The process involves a brief medical examination and consultation with one of our GMC-registered doctors, which is designed solely to issue the Certificate of Good Health using the specific wording demanded by the Spanish Consulate. Our certificate explicitly states that the applicant does not suffer from any disease that could cause serious public health repercussions in accordance with the specifications of the International Health Regulations of 2005, confirming you are free from serious communicable diseases that might endanger public health or security. Because this wording is non-negotiable for the Consulate’s acceptance, we ensure the final document is issued on official headed paper, wet-ink signed, and stamped by our doctor, providing you with a fully compliant document ready for your visa submission.
This Certificate of Good Health is mandatory for nearly all long-term national visas (D-visas) for stays exceeding 90 days. This includes the Student Visa, Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV), Digital Nomad Visa, and most Family Reunification visas.
The medical certificate is typically valid for a strict period of 3 months (90 days) from the date the doctor signs it. To avoid rejection, you must submit your visa application to the Consulate before this 90-day period expires.
The assessment is primarily a consultation to confirm you meet the IHR 2005 standards, so no extensive medical testing is usually required. However, you should be prepared to discuss any existing long-term medical conditions, and it is helpful to bring a list of all your current medications.
