FAQs about our Brunei Visa Medical

Which types of Brunei visas require this medical?

A medical certificate is mandatory for all Employment Visas (Work Passes) and any residency permit for stays longer than 90 days. Short-term social visit visas (under 90 days) usually do not require this medical, though you must still complete a digital health declaration before arrival.
Because of the high number of lab tests required (including stool and urine analysis), you should book your medical 4–6 weeks before your departure. Most Brunei medical results are valid for 3 months, but some employers or the Embassy may require the results to be no older than 2 weeks at the time of submission.
Due to the complexity of the forms, please allow 60 minutes for your clinic appointment. You will receive your final, certified medical report within 5–7 working days, as we must wait for the laboratory to process the blood, stool, and drug screenings.
Generally, Brunei uses a standard “Medical Examination Report for Foreign Workers.” Whether you are an engineer or a teacher, the requirements for blood tests and physical fitness remain high.
Brunei focuses heavily on Hepatitis B. Our medical includes the necessary Surface Antigen (HBsAg) test. If you are a healthcare worker, we can also provide the Hepatitis C and HIV results required.
Yes, for many work-related visas, Brunei requires a serum or urine pregnancy test to be recorded on the medical form as part of the mandatory screening process.
Brunei requires a Chest X-ray. The doctor must specifically comment on the presence of any “fibrotic lesions” or signs of past or present TB in the report.
