About our Clinic

When do you need a Fit to Fly Letter?

While every airline has slightly different policies, the general industry standard (including Ryanair, EasyJet, British Airways, and Emirates) requires a medical certificate if:

  • You are traveling after 28 weeks of pregnancy.
  • You have a multiple pregnancy (twins or triplets).
  • You have experienced any pregnancy complications or recent spotting.

Note: Most airlines will not permit travel after 36 weeks for single pregnancies or 32 weeks for multiples.

Our Maternity Travel Assessment

Our assessment focuses on:

  • Gestational Verification: Confirming your expected due date (EDD) and current week of pregnancy.
  • Risk Screening: Checking for signs of pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, or risks of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
  • Flight Safety Advice: Providing guidance on staying hydrated, moving during the flight, and the use of compression stockings.
  • Airliner Compliance: Ensuring your letter contains the specific phrasing and dates required by your chosen airline.
