All applicants applying for a licence from The Motor Sport Association UK are required to undertake a full medical, known as a motorsport medical. This will ensure that you are deemed medically fit to drive a motorsport vehicle. You will not be granted a Motorsport licence without having passed the medical first.
A valid medical will last for 12 month after which time a new medical will need to be undertaken. You will also need to have a valid ECG – this will be a Resting ECG for those 49 years of age and below and a Stress Related ECG for those over the age of 49.
Here at the Midland Medical Group we believe in providing a friendly and efficient service for all our motorsport medicals in Birmingham. Our fully qualified GPs will see you at a time that fits around your life and will complete your medical in around 30 minutes. Our modern medical practice is well located in Birmingham city and offers free parking.
During the examination the doctor will perform a vision test, height & weight, blood pressure check, cardiovascular check, neurological check, respiratory check, musculoskeletal check, urine test and colour vision (if required). You will also be asked to disclose any medical history, including any surgery you have undertaken during the past two years.
You will need to bring your driving licence, a list of any current medication, any hospital letters and contact lenses/prescription (if applicable).
